Quantum Computing, Cryptography Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate quantum technologies and their impact on cybersecurity and cryptography.

• Analyze cryptographic protocols, algorithms, standards, and PKI to determine modernization priorities.

• Create migration plans for quantum-resistant algorithms and strategies for implementing Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC).

• Review cryptographic inventories and rank systems that need migration or remediation.

• Design, implement, and test cryptographic and quantum solutions utilizing relevant programming and simulation tools.

• Offer guidance in accordance with NIST PQC standards, including FIPS 203, 204, and 205.

• Convey quantum risks and migration suggestions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Partner with technical teams and leadership to assess new technologies and formulate implementation plans.

• Assist in the enterprise's cryptographic modernization, risk mitigation, and the long-term cybersecurity strategy for the government client.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to obtain and maintain the necessary VA background investigation/suitability determination and system access.

• Certification in one or more of the following: IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Business Administration, Business Management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management, or related areas.

• At least 10 years of IT experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on Quantum Computing and Cryptography.

• Experience in a large corporation or government agency with a scope similar to GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA.

• Proficient in quantum computing, cryptographic protocols, and PQC.

• Background in developing or advising on strategies for quantum-resistant migration.

• Experience in project management or working within a project-based environment.

• Familiarity with configuration management throughout the overall project lifecycle.

• Travel may be necessary for meetings, training, presentations, or briefings with project stakeholders.
