This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Full-Stack Model Validation: Perform thorough, independent evaluations of advanced credit and fraud models—including both machine learning and traditional statistical approaches—emphasizing conceptual integrity, data accuracy, and performance consistency.
• Advanced Quantitative Monitoring: Create automated, independent monitoring systems in Python to oversee KRI/KPI drift, population stability (PSI), and shifts in feature importance in real-time.
• Remediation & Technical Advisory: Collaborate with first-line Model Developers to address validation issues, ensuring that models and strategies are not only compliant but also mathematically sound.
• Audit & Regulatory Liaison: Work alongside Internal Audit, Internal Controls, and Compliance to ensure the prompt resolution of audit and regulatory inquiries.
• Affirm Bank: Contribute to the internal Bank team to aid in the development of the Bank Model Risk Management function. Assist with the model validation requirements for models owned by the Bank.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in a technical role, such as Credit/Fraud/Financial Risk Modeling, Model Validation, or Quantitative Analytics.
• Profound understanding of the consumer credit lifecycle and/or fraud detection mechanisms.
• Technical knowledge of loss forecasting, fraud prediction, and stress-testing frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in Python (particularly with pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels) for modeling replication and backtesting.
• Expertise in SQL for managing large-scale, distributed datasets and conducting intricate data lineage audits.
• An inherent problem-solver with a keen attention to detail, a strong curiosity about strategy performance, and excellent critical-thinking abilities.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated capacity to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
