Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and document SQL queries for extensive data sets to address business inquiries, ensuring results are verified prior to dissemination.

• Create and sustain dashboards and regular reports in Power BI, adhering to team standards for definitions.

• Examine performance trends across sales, operations, and merchandising to identify risks and opportunities.

• Transform analysis into a coherent narrative, whether written or visual, that includes findings, supporting evidence, and limitations.

• Present outcomes to business stakeholders and departmental leadership, addressing inquiries regarding methodology and data integrity.

• Assist senior analysts with larger, cross-functional analysis and modeling tasks.

• Apply team-standard methodologies for data gathering and metric calculation.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Governance teams to identify and resolve data quality concerns.

• Engage in peer reviews by submitting your work and evaluating the work of others.

• Collaborate with business analysts to clarify requirements and translate them into an analytical framework.

• Investigate data inconsistencies and reporting challenges, performing root cause analysis and documenting results.

• Analyze various data sets for trends and anomalies, distinguishing between correlation and causation.

• Develop a solid understanding of the Trulieve business model and key performance indicators.

• Foster a data-driven culture by ensuring reproducibility of work and clarity of definitions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of practical experience in an analyst or reporting capacity.

• Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, including the use of joins, aggregation, window functions, and CTEs.

• Experience in creating reports and dashboards using Power BI or a similar BI tool.

• Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables and analytical functions.

• Fundamental knowledge of applied statistics.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of conveying results and their implications to a non-technical audience.

• Inquisitive, detail-oriented, and not hesitant to question data anomalies.

• Self-driven with a mindset focused on continuous improvement; comfortable asking questions and working with moderate guidance.

• Familiar with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks.

• Familiarity with Python for data analysis (e.g., pandas) is preferred.

• Experience with retail, wholesale, or multi-location operational data is preferred.

• Background in a regulated industry such as cannabis, pharmaceuticals, alcohol, or tobacco is advantageous.

• Exposure to SAP S/4 or other ERP systems is a plus.

• Experience working in an Agile environment is a plus.

• Proficient with PowerPoint for presenting findings.

• Must successfully pass a level 2 background check.
