This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• Conduct comprehensive in-process and final evaluations on machined components, composite materials, and intricate aerospace assemblies.
• Assist Supplier Quality Engineers with First Article Inspection tasks.
• Assess Supplier End Item Data Packages for completeness and adherence to standards.
• Issue turn-backs for any product or data nonconformances that hinder acceptance.
• Utilize GD&T principles to ensure product conformity and adequate inspection coverage.
• Employ precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparators, visual aids, and other measuring devices.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contractual obligations.
• Work collaboratively with Supplier Quality Engineers and Quality Managers to address nonconformances and facilitate corrective measures.
• Engage in supplier quality initiatives, which may include domestic travel for on-site inspections or training sessions.
• Ensure adherence to internal protocols, customer expectations, and industry and regulatory standards.
• Participate in supplier daily and weekly Work-in-Process meetings.
• Conduct product acceptance and End Item Data Package evaluations under stamp warranty authority.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a minimum of 8 years of related experience in the absence of a degree.
• At least 6 years of quality inspection experience in aerospace or a similarly regulated field.
• Strong proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience in inspecting complex assemblies, machined parts, and composite structures.
• Familiarity with inspection techniques, processes, and documentation standards.
• Competence in using precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and visual inspection aids.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Willingness and ability to travel within the United States, occasionally on short notice.
• Experience in reviewing NDT certifications such as FPI and radiography is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
• Familiarity with nonconformance documentation, corrective action processes, and supplier quality management systems is preferred.
• Working understanding of AS9100, AS9102, and AS9120 standards is preferred.
• ASQ (CQI) certification or Six Sigma training/certification is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 requirements is preferred.
• Experience with borescope inspections is preferred.
• 9/80 work schedule: employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off.
