This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +5 more states.
β’ Develop and implement quality strategies and validation frameworks for AI/ML across Missile Solutions applications.
β’ Establish and uphold data governance practices, which encompass data quality controls, labeling accuracy, drift monitoring, and bias prevention.
β’ Define quantifiable performance metrics and acceptance criteria for AI utilized in mission-critical systems or defect-detection applications.
β’ Lead verification and validation efforts for AI/ML models, including adversarial testing, stress testing, and edge-case simulations.
β’ Adapt conventional quality and risk management tools, such as FMEA development and mitigation planning, to intelligent systems.
β’ Oversee quality frameworks for automated inspection systems, which include sensor calibration, metrology data ingestion, and synthetic data pipelines.
β’ Govern post-deployment quality practices, including regression testing, drift thresholds, and monitoring/retraining workflows.
β’ Align internal AI engineering practices with recognized standards like ISO/IEC 42001 and NIST AI RMF.
β’ Ensure adherence to AS9100, internal quality systems, and customer-specific quality requirements.
β’ Collaborate with Executive Leadership, Data Science, Software Engineering, Operations, and site Quality teams.
β’ Report to the Director of Quality Engineering.
β’ Support the safe deployment and lifecycle management of AI-enabled tools.
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related technical field with 12 years of relevant experience; OR a Graduate Degree with 10 years of related experience; OR 16 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
β’ At least 3 years of experience leading technical projects, cross-functional initiatives, or engineering teams.
β’ Minimum 1 year of experience in verification, validation, testing, or quality management of software-intensive systems, AI/ML models, or analytics pipelines.
β’ Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
β’ Up to 30% travel may be necessary.
β’ Experience in manufacturing or quality within the defense, aerospace, automotive, or similar sectors.
β’ Capability to work independently and adjust to shifting priorities.
β’ ASQ CSQE or CQE certification.
β’ Training or certification in AI governance or trustworthy AI frameworks.
β’ Familiarity with data validation frameworks for drift and anomaly detection.
β’ Understanding of quality flow-down requirements for prime defense contractors.
β’ Knowledge of APQP, manufacturing risk management, Six Sigma, and LEAN principles.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
