This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Deliver professional leadership and expert psychological guidance within Corporate Health and Wellbeing.
• Oversee the creation and implementation of clinical governance frameworks for Psychological Services.
• Manage the quality assurance framework, including clinical standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Conduct case audits, clinical record evaluations, and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure adherence to professional standards, clinical governance requirements, and contractual commitments.
• Examine audits, complaints, incidents, supervision outcomes, and service data to detect trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Design and execute quality enhancement initiatives.
• Participate in governance committees, quality forums, audits, accreditation programs, and client assurance reviews.
• Independently assess complex, high-risk, or escalated psychological cases.
• Offer clinical consultation and recommendations regarding mental health risks, trauma, stress-related conditions, neurodiversity, fitness for work, and safeguarding.
• Advise clinicians, case managers, and operational teams on clinical decision-making and risk management.
• Serve as the primary resource for mental health risk management, covering areas such as suicide risk, self-harm, harm to others, acute distress, serious mental illness, and psychological crises.
• Assist with safeguarding decisions, investigations, referrals, and case reviews involving both adults and children.
• Collaborate with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Safeguarding Leads.
• Contribute to safeguarding audits, assurance activities, organizational learning, policies, procedures, and training.
• Lead and sustain the clinical supervision framework.
• Provide both individual and group clinical supervision.
• Coach and mentor clinicians while promoting reflective practice and competency.
• Conduct training, workshops, and educational sessions on psychological practice, mental health risks, safeguarding, and clinical governance.
• Assist with competency assessments, induction, and professional development.
• Provide specialist psychological consultation to Occupational Health clinicians.
• Bring psychological expertise to multidisciplinary discussions and case reviews.
• Offer guidance on psychological risk factors related to work capability, recovery, and workplace adjustments.
• Keep accurate records of supervision, audits, and governance.
• Note that the role does not involve routine psychological therapy, counseling, assessment, or managing a personal clinical caseload.
• Report to the Clinical and Quality Assurance Manager.
• Significant post-qualification experience in psychological or mental health services.
• Proven experience in providing clinical supervision.
• Experience in reviewing complex and high-risk mental health cases.
• Proficiency in managing safeguarding concerns involving adults and/or children.
• Experience in conducting clinical audits, case reviews, and quality assurance activities.
• Strong grasp of clinical governance and risk management principles.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and report-writing abilities.
• Capacity to influence and support clinicians, managers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Current registration with a recognized professional body, such as HCPC, BPS, BABCP, BACP, NMC, or equivalent.
• Degree-level qualification and a recognized professional qualification in a relevant psychological or mental health discipline.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical quality, governance, and safeguarding.
• Ability to demonstrate sound professional judgment when handling complex and high-risk cases.
• Desirable: experience in occupational health, vocational rehabilitation, insurance-funded healthcare, or case management services.
• Desirable: background in supporting serious incident investigations, complaints, or clinical reviews.
• Desirable: experience in leading service improvement or quality enhancement initiatives.
• Desirable: experience with pediatric cases.
• Desirable: knowledge of workplace mental health and fitness for work principles.
• Desirable: formal qualification in clinical supervision.
• Desirable: Safeguarding Level 5 training or equivalent experience.
• Maintain current professional registration and meet continuing professional development requirements.
