This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Perform risk prevention visits to evaluate property, product liability, and construction contractor risks.
• Create risk management and underwriting reports.
• Offer technical guidance to underwriters and assist in addressing deficiencies in property risk management.
• Ensure that risk management services adhere to ARMS standards regarding quality, timelines, and profitability.
• Work together with leadership, colleagues, and partners to improve insurance services.
• Serve as an on-site consultant.
• Balance account management and field engineering duties with overnight travel.
• A college or university degree in engineering, prevention, or risk management.
• Over 5 years of experience in property loss control for complex and High Property Risk (HPR) scenarios.
• Capability to read and evaluate sprinkler plans, fire pumps, suppression systems, and conduct hydraulic tests.
• Competence in interpreting architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints.
• Familiarity with North American building/fire codes, NFPA standards, and industry-recognized standards (Factory Mutual or GE Gaps Guidelines).
• Extensive understanding of complex Loss Scenario Engineering (MFL/PML/NLE).
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Strong skills in technical writing.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and passport (or the ability to acquire one).
• Willingness to travel frequently (80% in Ontario, 20% across Canada).
