Quality Assurance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly with clients to gain insights into business needs, assess quality risks, and devise testing strategies.

• Create, implement, and uphold manual test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for web, mobile, API, and integrated software systems.

• Design and manage automated test suites utilizing technologies such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or equivalent tools.

• Conduct API testing with tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar frameworks.

• Execute functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, exploratory, and acceptance testing throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Identify, document, prioritize, and communicate software defects effectively.

• Collaborate with engineers to explore root causes and confirm fixes.

• Develop scalable automation strategies to enhance test coverage, accelerate feedback cycles, and minimize repetitive manual testing.

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using platforms like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar systems.

• Validate APIs, data integrations, and backend systems.

• Partner with software engineers, product managers, designers, and client stakeholders to set acceptance criteria and champion quality.

• Tailor testing strategies to suit various clients, industries, technical landscapes, and business settings.

• Foster trust with clients and internal teams through effective communication, problem-solving, meticulousness, and execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundational knowledge in software quality assurance.

• Practical experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.

• Extensive experience in creating and executing manual testing strategies, including functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.

• Hands-on expertise in developing and maintaining automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar frameworks.

• Experience in testing APIs and integrated systems.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, SQL, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language like JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, or C#.

• Demonstrated ability to identify risks, investigate defects, troubleshoot complex issues, and balance manual and automated testing.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Capacity to convey quality risks, defects, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proven ability to analyze intricate systems and requirements and formulate practical strategies for software quality.

• Strong interest in consulting.
