QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish quality from the outset of each feature by setting acceptance criteria, ensuring testability, and defining the completion standards in collaboration with product and engineering teams.

• Create and manage the automated QA workflow for agentic delivery, encompassing triage, test generation, and execution reporting.

• Evaluate AI-generated tests and code for accuracy, identify gaps, and assess any false confidence.

• Conduct tests on edge cases, failure scenarios, data integrity, security, performance, and cross-system interactions.

• Align risks with tests and eliminate redundant or unnecessary tests.

• Design and sustain end-to-end and API automation utilizing Playwright and TypeScript.

• Develop and uphold CI/CD quality gates.

• Monitor quality and efficiency metrics such as escape rate, flake rate, acceptance-criteria coverage, suite runtime, and maintenance efforts.

• Analyze test failures, ascertain root causes, and implement measures to avoid recurrence.

• Make informed technical decisions regarding architecture, test data, and environments.

• Enhance the team's skills in testing for agentic development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in QA, SDET, or software engineering with a focus on quality.

• 3-5 years of practical experience with Playwright automation using TypeScript or JavaScript.

• Proven experience in establishing or significantly influencing QA practices for a product.

• Familiarity with AI coding assistants and agentic tools within a real delivery workflow.

• A mindset of quality ownership throughout the entire system.

• Strong instincts for exploratory and risk-based testing.

• Proficient in reading and critically assessing code.

• Experience in building or maintaining CI/CD test pipelines.

• Solid foundation in Agile methodologies and test strategies, including risk-based planning, the test pyramid, and regression scope.

• Knowledge of structured agentic development methodologies (bonus).

• Experience in designing evaluations or quality metrics for LLM- or agent-based systems (bonus).

• Proven track record of reducing test suite bloat or flakiness in extensive automation codebases (bonus).

• Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman or RestAssured, as well as contract testing (bonus).

• Experience with Jira automation or test case management systems (bonus).
