QA Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assist in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of Varicent's Incentives application.

• Conduct manual testing to verify new features and rectify bugs.

• Validate API responses and assess database interactions.

• Detect and report defects with comprehensive, detailed information.

• Identify, document, and prioritize bugs using JIRA or similar platforms.

• Re-test resolved defects and execute regression testing prior to releases.

• Manage simple defects independently and contribute to medium-sized projects with supervision.

• Determine happy-path and negative tests based on requirements.

• Ascertain feature or fix scope in alignment with business objectives.

• Prioritize test cases and provide estimates for assignments.

• Collaborate with QA and development colleagues to analyze technical issues and escalate concerns to leads.

• Contribute to enhancements in the QA process and stay updated on QA trends and tools.

• Acquaint yourself with the product, team structure, and development workflow within the first 30 days.

• Write and execute test cases for client-reported bugs, minor features, or modules within the first 60 days.

• Offer feedback on onboarding procedures and suggest improvements to the QA workflow within the first 90 days.

⛳️ Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.

• Fundamental knowledge of software testing methodologies, particularly manual testing.

• Familiarity with QA tools such as JIRA or Postman.

• Basic understanding of REST APIs and database testing.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Good grasp of product functionality and architecture, and its relevance to business.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

• B2 level English or higher is mandatory.
