QAE/DevOps Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of enterprise-level quality engineering, automation, and DevOps functionalities.

• Establish an end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Quality Assurance (QA) architecture, focusing on Azure DevOps pipelines, CI/CD integration, governance, quality gates, and AI-enhanced quality engineering.

• Develop and refine the test technology stack, reference architecture, coding standards, and repository organization.

• Evaluate new Quality and DevOps technologies and their implications for quality.

• Assist in modernizing the complete SDLC process along with the supporting technology stack.

• Design, implement, and enhance Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, ensuring integrated quality gates and governance controls.

• Set enterprise standards for build, release, and deployment pipelines, ensuring compliance and audit capabilities.

• Incorporate automated UI, API, performance, and data validation testing into CI/CD pipelines.

• Define and uphold QA governance models, standards, controls, and best practices across various teams.

• Manage the automation backlog and risk-ranked regression suites, identifying and eliminating QA technology technical debt.

• Lead the adoption of AI-assisted QA tools.

• Collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and platform teams for comprehensive SDLC integration.

• Spearhead shift-left quality initiatives and shift-right processes informed by production incidents.

• Assess and select QA automation, pipeline optimization, and AI integration tools and frameworks.

• Mentor QA and DevOps engineers.

• Propel continuous improvement in deployment reliability, speed, and quality metrics.

• Extend QA oversight to AI agents and bot interactions, establishing bot quality standards and metrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in QA, quality engineering, or test automation, including prior experience in an architect role.

• Previous experience in leading the transformation from manual QA to automation.

• Extensive expertise in Azure DevOps (Platform Administration, Pipelines, Repos, Test Plans, Artifacts), particularly with deployment pipelines.

• Proven track record in designing and governing enterprise CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, or similar).

• Proficient in API testing, data validation, and testing strategies integrated into pipelines.

• Strong scripting/programming capabilities in languages such as C#, Python, PowerShell, JMeter, or similar.

• Experience in integrating QA into CI/CD workflows with enforceable quality gates, including regression, integration, performance, and other quality assessments.

• Proven experience in establishing governance frameworks for QA and DevOps practices.

• Comprehensive understanding of modern SDLC, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.

• Data and analytics proficiency to design QAE processes and analyze trends.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code solutions (Bicep, Terraform, ARM) is preferred.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred.

• Experience with cloud-native architectures, preferably Azure.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development or testing tools is preferred.

• Experience with data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, dbt) is a plus.

• Understanding of security, compliance, and enterprise AI governance policies.

• Ability to provide a non-cellular High-Speed Internet Service, such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.

• Minimum internet speed of 30x5 (30 Mbps download x 5 Mbps upload).

• Latency (ping) response time must be lower than 80 ms.

• Hotspots, satellite, and wireless internet services are not permitted.
