QA Manager, Publishing – 6-month Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish the publishing QA function from the ground up.

• Identify and manage external testing partners.

• Oversee the complete QA process from the earliest builds of a title to its launch.

• Lead a team of external QA testers.

• Develop and implement a QA strategy, workflows, and standards customized for each title’s scope, platform requirements, and risk factors.

• Collaborate with producers, leads, and platform holders to determine testing priorities, milestones, and coverage objectives.

• Create and execute test plans, test case libraries, and ensure scenario coverage across various game systems, modes, and platforms.

• Assess and prioritize bugs, monitor defect status, and facilitate resolution throughout the certification process.

• Maintain up-to-date, audit-ready testing documentation, including test plans, coverage matrices, defect logs, and certification submission records.

• Communicate testing status to stakeholders, identify risks proactively, and offer recommendations.

• Stay informed about emerging QA tools, methodologies, and industry trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in a senior QA position, with a strong foundation in QA methodologies throughout the entire production lifecycle.

• Proven experience in leading a testing team.

• Excellent people management and cross-functional communication abilities.

• Familiarity with standard QA tools, including bug tracking, test management platforms, and version control systems.

• Keen attention to detail, combined with the ability to prioritize what truly impacts product quality.

• A genuine passion for games, along with an understanding of game mechanics and player expectations.
