QA Engineer – Ultimate team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Conduct exploratory testing on both new and existing features to identify edge cases.

• Execute regression tests to ensure platform reliability prior to releases.

• Write, maintain, and scale automated test suites.

• Reproduce issues reported by users and provide technical assistance for resolution.

• Collaborate with developers to enhance product knowledge and troubleshoot system bugs.

• Partner with product managers to assess issue priority and business significance.

• Take ownership of the testing process for both new and existing functionalities.

• Balance manual exploratory testing with the development of automated tests.

• Assist in ensuring IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate compatibility with JVM frameworks such as Spring, Jakarta EE, and Hibernate.

• Prevent regressions and facilitate the delivery of reliable updates for enterprise developers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in testing commercial software applications.

• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin sufficient for writing test applications and reviewing source code.

• Fluent in both spoken and written English.

• Practical knowledge of build tools like Maven, Gradle, or Bazel.

• Understanding of databases and Docker containers.

• Experience testing software across various operating systems.

• Basic system administration capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly.

• Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of independently acquiring new technologies.

• Team-oriented mindset when collaborating with distributed engineering teams.
