QA Engineer – IJ Kotlin Plugin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with developers to conduct exploratory testing of both new and updated IDE features.

• Investigate and identify bugs, document findings in the bug tracker, and execute regression testing.

• Create maintainable test scenarios and decide which tests should be automated.

• Write and maintain automated Kotlin tests to enhance coverage of IDE functionality.

• Evaluate current test coverage, pinpoint significant gaps, and assist in prioritizing automation initiatives.

• Engage in product planning to evaluate technical risks and organize QA tasks.

• Enhance test coverage for Kotlin-related features in IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate and other key Kotlin tooling areas.

• Minimize regressions while boosting the stability and reliability of the Kotlin plugin.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to read and write clean code for creating test examples, troubleshooting failures, and developing automated tests.

• Expertise in Kotlin, Java, or another object-oriented programming language.

• Experience in designing test scenarios and determining which tests should be automated or conducted manually.

• Familiarity with bug tracking systems, version control, and continuous integration tools.

• Acquaintance with Java technologies, frameworks, and build tools like Maven or Gradle.

• Proficiency in analyzing complex technical behaviors, including static analysis, compilers, or language tooling.

• A genuine passion for programming languages, IDEs, and developer tools.

• Ability to work closely with engineering colleagues.

• Strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and dedication to solving intricate technical challenges.
