QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Conduct both functional and non-functional testing, which encompasses performance, accessibility, security, operational, and user acceptance testing within an Agile team.

• Design and maintain test automation solutions and scripts.

• Advocate for testing best practices among the development team.

• Create and sustain performance, load, and stress testing solutions utilizing standard or open-source tools.

• Address testing challenges and obstacles.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams distributed across various geographic locations.

• Manage defects, ensuring effective triage until resolution.

• Encourage the adoption of robust testing practices among stakeholders.

• Work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders.

• Provide timely updates regarding testing progress and results.

• Engage at client sites on complex systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing TDD/BDD or Acceptance Test Driven Development strategies utilizing a variety of tools and frameworks.

• Proficient in Java coding with a strong understanding of automated test frameworks such as Serenity and RestAssured.

• Extensive experience with API testing tools, preferably Postman.

• Familiarity with integrating testing into Secure-SDLC and CI/CD tooling in a DevSecOps environment.

• Experience with tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, GitLab SaaS, Artifactory, Nexus, or similar software.

• Background in testing citizen-facing services.

• Experience in testing highly scalable, distributed, cloud-native (PaaS/FaaS), and microservice-oriented applications.

• Knowledge of containerization, container orchestration, service mesh, messaging, proxies, APIs, and both persistent and ephemeral storage.

• Experience with formal Test Management tools like Jira/Confluence and ALM.

• Understanding of Application Lifecycle Management and IT Service Management.

• Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and ServiceNow.

• Desirable: experience with JavaScript automation frameworks like WebdriverIO and Playwright.

• Desirable: experience in conducting stress/load testing using K6 and Grafana or similar open-source tools.

• Desirable: knowledge of the Microsoft Azure Portal.

• Desirable: ISEB Certification in Software Testing.

• Desirable: experience with data migration projects.

• Desirable: background in the Public Sector.

• Required to have or be willing to undergo Security Clearance.

• Must complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard as part of the onboarding process.
