QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create sustainable automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, data, contract, performance, and other relevant testing layers.

• Build automated tests featuring clear assertions, reusable components, controlled data, and actionable failure diagnostics.

• Incorporate automated suites into CI/CD with efficient triggers, parallelization, reporting, retry controls, and quality gates.

• Analyze failures, differentiate product defects from testing or environmental issues, and initiate root-cause analysis.

• Collaborate with developers, analysts, UX, security, and DevOps to enhance testability and acceptance criteria from the outset.

• Review automation code, guide contributors, and establish standards for coding, data, environments, and evidence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent directly relevant experience.

• At least five years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation.

• Strong programming or scripting skills.

• Practical experience in creating maintainable UI, API, integration, or data-test automation.

• Familiarity with integrating tests into CI/CD processes.

• Experience in diagnosing failures across application, testing, data, and environmental boundaries.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting federal, defense, regulated, or mission-critical software.

• Preferred: Knowledge in accessibility, performance, security, mobile, contract, or cloud-native testing.

• Preferred: ISTQB, cloud, security, Agile, or other relevant certifications.
