Python Engineer – LangGraph, AI Agents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications for AI agents utilizing Python and LangGraph.

• Create stateful, multi-step workflows for agents, incorporating branching, looping, retries, and error handling.

• Execute tool integration and API connections with databases and enterprise systems.

• Develop reusable components and frameworks tailored for agentic applications.

• Integrate large language models (LLMs) into comprehensive software solutions.

• Construct and sustain workflows and agents based on LangGraph.

• Implement state management, persistence, checkpoints, and recovery workflows.

• Create human-in-the-loop workflows along with approval processes.

• Design architectures for both single-agent and multi-agent systems.

• Enhance agent workflows for reliability, latency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Deploy AI applications in production environments.

• Establish APIs and services centered around AI agents.

• Set up testing, logging, monitoring, tracing, and error management systems.

• Diagnose production issues and enhance application reliability.

• Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automated deployment processes.

• Integrate both commercial and open-source LLMs into production systems.

• Develop prompt templates, structured outputs, function/tool calling, and context management strategies.

• Create retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions using enterprise data sources.

• Engage with embeddings and vector databases where applicable.

• Assess model performance, optimizing model selection, latency, and cost.

• Connect AI agents with REST APIs, databases, SaaS platforms, and internal business systems.

• Develop secure tools and interfaces allowing agents to execute business actions.

• Implement measures for authentication, authorization, validation, and access control.

• Ensure that agent actions are auditable and managed appropriately.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive commercial experience with Python.

• Practical experience in developing applications with LangGraph.

• Background in building and deploying applications powered by LLMs or AI agents.

• Experience in creating production APIs and backend services.

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, testing methodologies, version control, and CI/CD processes.

• Familiarity with REST APIs and integration with enterprise systems.

• Knowledge of LLM concepts, including prompting, tool calling, structured outputs, embeddings, and RAG.

• Experience in deploying applications on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Desirable: Familiarity with LangChain / LangSmith.

• Desirable: Experience with multi-agent architectures.

• Desirable: Knowledge of vector databases.

• Desirable: Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker.

• Desirable: Experience with Infrastructure as Code.

• Desirable: Understanding of event-driven architectures.
