Python Developer – Insurance Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +28 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain Python applications that support various insurance business processes, including Policy, Claims, Underwriting, and Billing systems.

• Create REST APIs and backend services.

• Connect applications with both internal and external systems through APIs and web services.

• Develop solutions for data processing and automation using Python and SQL.

• Work with relational databases and enhance SQL queries for performance.

• Build and maintain applications utilizing Django, Flask, or FastAPI.

• Collaborate with both business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions within an Agile/Scrum framework.

• Support cloud-based deployments and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.

• Conduct unit testing, debugging, production support, and performance tuning.

• Implement secure development practices.

• Provide dependable applications and solutions that align with insurance business needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in Python backend development, particularly in building REST APIs and backend services.

• Proficiency in developing applications with Django, Flask, or FastAPI.

• Strong background in SQL, relational databases, data processing, and query optimization.

• Experience in integrating applications via APIs and web services.

• Proven experience in supporting cloud-based deployments and CI/CD processes.

• Familiarity with unit testing, debugging, production support, performance optimization, and secure coding and development best practices.

• 7+ years of relevant software development experience (preferred).

• Prior experience with insurance systems or business processes, especially in Policy, Claims, Underwriting, or Billing (preferred).

• Broader experience with Python web frameworks, cloud-based deployment environments, or CI/CD processes is a plus.

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship for employment is not available.
