Punjabi VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary related to the industry in which you will be interpreting (specifically healthcare and medical). Training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Deliver the highest level of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and thorough interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and provide updates to your team leader.

• Follow dress code guidelines for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Punjabi".

• At least 1 year of telephone interpretation experience in a well-known interpretation company is advantageous, though not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus, but not required.

• Understanding of legal terminology is beneficial.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and tolerance for diverse cultures.

• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills are essential.
