Public Safety Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in conducting consulting engagements, which include research, technical tasks, documentation, and reporting on engagements.

• Ensure timely delivery of client services while adhering to scope and budget constraints.

• Aid in the creation of written deliverables and various work products.

• Engage in meetings and interviews with client stakeholders to document their needs and challenges.

• Take part in staff/team meetings and training sessions.

• Support team operations, events, marketing efforts, internal research projects, and initiatives for professional development.

• Help with project management tasks, including tracking and reporting on project progress, maintaining project document repositories, and reviewing deliverables for quality assurance.

• Provide ad hoc assessments and briefings in response to client inquiries.

• Create concise summaries, reports, and presentations of complex data for client leadership.

• Execute assigned administrative tasks efficiently and effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS Degree (relevant professional experience may substitute for this requirement).

• 2-4 years of professional experience, ideally in a Business Analyst role.

• Relevant experience in project management, project coordination, and/or research.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Willingness to travel 35-50% of the time.

• Preferred: experience in the public safety sector, including police, fire, EMS, dispatch, or corrections.

• Preferred: familiarity with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) datasets.

• Preferred: experience with Records Management Systems (RMS) for police, fire, Jail Management Systems (JMS), or Offender Management Systems (OMS).

• Preferred: experience with MS Teams and SharePoint collaboration platforms and using AI for enhanced efficiency.
