This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Evaluate communication materials related to public health initiatives, guidance documents, campaigns, and community outreach efforts.
• Analyze health information for accuracy, clarity, context, target audience suitability, analytical rigor, presentation quality, and professional credibility.
• Identify unsupported assertions, misleading statements, communication deficiencies, and weaknesses in outreach strategies or message sequencing.
• Assess tailoring for the audience, tone, framing, accessibility, message clarity, and consistency across various channels and stakeholder groups.
• Review evidence backing public health claims and the interpretation of epidemiological, programmatic, or population-level data.
• Evaluate overstatements, weak evidence, unfounded causal conclusions, limitations, uncertainties, and the alignment of key messages with underlying data.
• Review communication objectives for campaigns and programs, key messages, calls to action, stakeholder engagement, and overall practical effectiveness.
• Assess reports, spreadsheets, communication plans, slide decks, stakeholder presentations, charts, tables, and visuals for accuracy, completeness, clarity, logical flow, and formatting.
• Determine whether conclusions and recommendations are substantiated by supporting evidence.
• Provide clear, structured written feedback and consistently apply evaluation standards across all work products.
• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent professional experience in public health communications, health communications, public health programs, health education, public affairs, or a closely related discipline.
• Extensive experience in developing or reviewing public-facing health information.
• Practical knowledge of public health messaging, audience segmentation, and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to evaluate whether health claims and recommendations are adequately supported by evidence.
• Proven experience in conveying complex health information to non-specialist audiences.
• Highly skilled in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
• Advanced expertise in PowerPoint / Google Slides.
• Strong spreadsheet and analytical capabilities.
• Native or professional-level fluency in English.
• Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to deliver precise, structured feedback.
• Keen attention to detail regarding factual accuracy, communication, analytical aspects, and presentation quality.
• Work must be carried out without utilizing confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, institution, or other third party.
• H1-B and STEM OPT sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Flexible scheduling aligned with project requirements.
