Freelance Communications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide freelance communication assistance for specific projects and/or short durations.

• Join the list of approved contractors and engage in short-term or project-based assignments as needed.

• Engage in report editing, document layout and design, creating infographics, organizing events, producing videos, handling media relations, and/or managing social media.

• Receive briefs and work swiftly and autonomously.

• Ensure timely delivery of work that meets the required standards.

• Contribute to Climate Analytics' communication outputs, including scientific papers, decarbonization pathways, online tools, and reactive commentary.

• Collaborate with the communications team and diverse international teams across various time zones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of five years of relevant experience in communications.

• Proven dedication to the mission of Climate Analytics.

• Experience in an environment where factual accuracy and the significance of evidence are paramount.

• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in climate change communications.

• Demonstrated history of high-quality work in one or more of the following areas: report editing, document layout and design, infographics, event organization and management, video production, media relations, and social media.

• Capability to work independently without additional infrastructural requirements.

• Must be registered for tax as a freelancer/consultant in your country of residence and responsible for your own tax, insurance, etc.

• Ability to foster positive and effective relationships with diverse teams.

• Experience collaborating across time zones in multicultural or international settings.

• Proficiency in English at a minimum of C1 level.

• Ideally, familiarity with climate science, energy policy analysis, global development, and/or international environmental diplomacy.

• Senior position in a recognized energy or environmental think tank, or a substantial history of effective freelance work in this sector.

• Interest in international affairs and personal experience with various cultures is desirable.

• Proficiency in additional languages besides English is preferred.

• Submission of CV, cover letter, and a list of three references in PDF format is required.

• Inclusion of standard day rate is necessary.

• Work samples or links to relevant online work are welcomed.
