PT ROI Medical Records Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage Release of Information requests for patient medical records.

• Evaluate requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

• Access relevant patient data securely from client EHR systems and authorized electronic sources.

• Address phone calls, emails, and secure messages related to ROI inquiries.

• Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis when required.

• Transmit requested information securely through electronic delivery or eFax.

• Record medical record requests in Exchange Manager.

• Upload and index electronic medical records in Exchange Manager.

• Adhere to MRO and client facility policies, regulations, HIPAA privacy and security standards, as well as remote work and information security policies.

• Take part in virtual meetings and training sessions.

• Carry out other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

• Previous experience in Release of Information within a physician’s office or HIM Department is advantageous.

• Proficient in the use of computer applications and web-based systems.

• At least one year of experience entering data into computer systems.

• Familiarity with internet usage is necessary.

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting, effectively manage time, and achieve production targets.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proven success in addressing customer inquiries via phone, email, and virtual platforms.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Demonstrated reliability.

• Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.

• Understanding of HIPAA regulations is preferred.

• Must reside and conduct work in Kentucky, Mississippi, New Mexico, or Texas.

• A private, dedicated workspace that complies with MRO privacy and security standards.

• Access to reliable high-speed internet service.

• Utilization of MRO-approved equipment and secure access methods, including VPN and multi-factor authentication.
