This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Deliver psychological therapy to individuals affected by obesity, facilitating sustainable lifestyle and dietary modifications.
• Collaborate within a doctor-led multidisciplinary team that includes medical professionals, dietitians, psychologists, and exercise specialists.
• Apply theoretical frameworks such as CBT and DBT.
• Conduct initial assessments independently and assign patients to appropriate treatment options.
• Provide individual and group psychological interventions remotely through video conferencing.
• Assist in modifying eating habits and encouraging physical activity.
• Participate in regular MDT meetings to evaluate patient care.
• Engage in clinical supervision with a Practitioner Psychologist to address complex cases.
• Manage clinical risks, including safeguarding issues.
• Ensure compliance with CPD, clinical supervision, and registration standards.
• Uphold confidentiality as per the Data Protection Act regulations.
• Interact with patients via video consultations and in-app messaging.
• Support NHS contracts by working some evenings and Saturdays.
• Must be a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) with experience in weight management or bariatric care within a mental health context, or dealing with patients in an eating disorder environment.
• Registration with BABCP/BPS, including the provision of a registration number.
• Possess a Postgraduate Diploma as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering group-based programs and effectively facilitating sessions in a digital format.
• Comprehensive understanding of obesity, including issues related to weight stigma.
• Experience in providing weight management assistance.
• Capability to deliver supportive, empathetic, and patient-centered care to individuals with complex physical and mental health challenges.
• Enjoyment of remote work and the ability to remain motivated and organized without an office environment.
• A suitable home working arrangement with a private area for confidential consultations and a stable internet connection.
• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with a doctor-led multidisciplinary team.
• Confidence in managing a patient caseload and providing psychological interventions via video calls and in-app messaging autonomously.
• Experience in monitoring and guiding patients through healthcare pathways according to organizational protocols.
• Experience in scheduling assessments and appointments, tracking attendance, following up with patients, drafting GP letters, and adjusting protocols as necessary.
• Proficiency in using Excel, Google Sheets, or similar software.
• Experience thriving in dynamic and fast-paced start-up environments.
• Familiarity with technology to deliver patient care, including maintaining and reviewing patient records.
• Availability to work early evenings and Saturdays as required.
