This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Professionally and empathetically respond to incoming patient calls.
• Initiate outbound calls to patients as required.
• Engage in communication with patients, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers.
• Manage sensitive or emotional discussions with patience and professionalism.
• Accurately take messages and document interactions with patients.
• Follow up with patients concerning appointments, paperwork, insurance, and other requirements.
• Schedule, reschedule, and oversee patient appointments.
• Coordinate appointments for new patients and their follow-ups.
• Assist in completing patient intake processes.
• Collect and verify demographic and insurance details.
• Ensure that patient records and documentation are complete and accurate.
• Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits.
• Review insurance details and identify any coverage issues.
• Assist with obtaining prior authorizations for appointments and medications.
• Follow up with insurance companies regarding the status of authorizations.
• Maintain precise documentation of authorization requests and outcomes.
• Help in processing patient payments.
• Review accounts to identify outstanding balances or issues.
• Assist with billing follow-up and denial management.
• Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate billing documentation.
• May assist with provider credentialing and payer enrollment with major health insurance companies after core responsibilities are established.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare VA, medical reception, medical administration, or a similar role.
• Strong experience in managing patient phone calls.
• Proficient in scheduling and patient intake processes.
• Familiarity with insurance verification procedures.
• Prior authorization experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge in medical billing and/or denial management.
• Experience with Tebra is strongly preferred.
• Background in behavioral health, psychiatry, psychology, or other mental health practices is a significant advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable with learning new software and healthcare workflows.
• Reliable internet connection, computer, and a professional work environment.
• Comfortable handling confidential patient information and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
