Psychiatrist – Consulting Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with psychiatric nurse practitioners concerning medication management and intricate cases.

• Offer advice on medication choices, dosing, side effects, interactions, monitoring, and alternative treatment options.

• Promote evidence-based psychiatric practices and assist in clinical decision-making.

• Help determine when further evaluation, referral, or a higher level of care is necessary.

• Provide education and mentorship to providers.

• Contribute to medication-management policies, protocols, and initiatives for quality improvement.

• Counsel clinical leadership on psychiatric services and considerations for patient safety.

• Support BHC’s psychiatric nurse practitioners without engaging in direct client evaluation, treatment, prescribing, an assigned caseload, or on-call duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.

• Active medical license in good standing.

• Wisconsin medical license or eligibility for licensure in Wisconsin.

• Strong understanding of psychiatric medication management.

• Experience in consulting with or mentoring psychiatric nurse practitioners.

• Background in handling complex psychiatric cases.

• Excellent communication, consultation, and collaboration abilities.

• Familiarity with multidisciplinary behavioral health practices.
