Psychiatrist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver thorough psychiatric care to patients in correctional facilities.

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, treatments, and follow-up care utilizing autonomous medical judgment.

• Assess the effectiveness and side effects of psychotropic medications, modifying treatment as clinically necessary.

• Offer clinical consultation to mental health and healthcare staff.

• Work collaboratively with facility leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and care providers.

• Ensure timely and precise clinical documentation.

• Engage in mandatory meetings, consultations, and on-call responsibilities.

• Assist with referrals, transfers, crisis intervention, and clinical collaboration with mental health and medical personnel.

• Promote continuity of care through treatment planning, follow-up, and coordination with mental health services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.

• Completed specialty training in psychiatry.

• Experience in providing psychiatric services to adult populations.

• Preferred experience in delivering psychiatric services to adolescents for clinical assignments in youth facilities.

• Corrections experience is a plus.

• Must hold a current unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.

• Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry.

• Current DEA registration is required unless deemed optional by the Chief Medical Officer.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Must reside within the United States.
