This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Evaluate the mental and physical health of patients based on their symptoms and complaints.

β€’ Identify and diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.

β€’ Differentiate between physiological and psychological disorders for accurate diagnosis.

β€’ Provide individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental disorders.

β€’ Order necessary diagnostic tests such as EKGs, laboratory work, and other assessments.

β€’ Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients on the associated risks, benefits, and side effects.

β€’ Monitor medication usage, side effects, and patient outcomes.

β€’ Assess patient behavior and treatment responses to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.

β€’ Successfully engage with challenging patients, utilizing verbal de-escalation techniques when needed.

β€’ Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.

β€’ Provide education to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and medications.

β€’ Maintain thorough documentation of medical and psychological histories, physical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.

β€’ Complete necessary administrative documentation, including FMLA and other approved forms.

β€’ Schedule and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment needs.

β€’ Conduct patient visits and ensure accurate documentation within the EHR system.

β€’ Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.

β€’ Seek clinical guidance from recommended references and the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director.

β€’ Provide care to adolescent and adult patients, or throughout the lifespan, as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

β€’ Currently possesses a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).

β€’ Experience in both Addiction and Mental Health fields.

β€’ Willingness to obtain additional state licensures.

β€’ Experience with Motivational Interviewing techniques.

β€’ Commitment to collaborating with clients to achieve their goals.

β€’ Must have experience working with adults requiring general mental health or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.

β€’ Must be comfortable working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and up).

β€’ Familiarity with mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse.

β€’ Proven ability in treatment planning.

β€’ Competency in conducting and applying comprehensive assessments.

β€’ Timely and high-quality documentation skills; experience with EHR systems is essential.

β€’ Adaptability to technology, including telehealth software; comfort with video communication is necessary.

β€’ Awareness of and compliance with HIPAA regulations and 42 CFR Part 2.

β€’ Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance is not available.

β€’ For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, an active DEA registration is required and must be maintained by the clinician.

β€’ Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

β€’ Previous telehealth experience is preferred.

β€’ Experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
