This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Evaluate patients, including adolescents and adults, based on their presenting symptoms and concerns.

β€’ Identify and diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions.

β€’ Differentiate between physiologically and psychologically based disorders and make accurate diagnoses.

β€’ Provide individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental health issues.

β€’ Request diagnostic tests such as EKGs, laboratory work, and other necessary assessments.

β€’ Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while informing patients about risks, benefits, and potential side effects.

β€’ Monitor medication use, side effects, and treatment outcomes.

β€’ Assess patient behavior and their response to treatment interventions.

β€’ Effectively de-escalate challenging situations with patients when required.

β€’ Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and assess treatment plans.

β€’ Provide education to patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and medications.

β€’ Maintain accurate documentation of medical and psychological histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.

β€’ Complete necessary administrative paperwork, including FMLA and other Brave-approved documents.

β€’ Organize and manage follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.

β€’ Conduct patient visits and ensure precise documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

β€’ Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.

β€’ Utilize recommended resources and seek clinical guidance from the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

β€’ Must possess a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).

β€’ Experience in addiction services and mental health care.

β€’ Willingness to pursue additional state licensure as needed.

β€’ Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing techniques.

β€’ Commitment to collaborating with clients to reach their goals.

β€’ Experience working with adults requiring general mental health support and/or treatment for severe mental illness (SMI).

β€’ Comfort and experience in working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 years and older).

β€’ Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses involving substance abuse.

β€’ Proficiency in treatment planning.

β€’ Capability to conduct and apply comprehensive assessments.

β€’ Timely and accurate documentation skills; prior experience with EHR systems is essential.

β€’ Adaptability to technology, including telehealth platforms; comfortable with video communication.

β€’ Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.

β€’ Eligibility to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance will be provided.

β€’ For clinicians with a Florida or New York license, an active DEA registration is necessary and must be maintained by the clinician.

β€’ Proficiency in Spanish is preferred; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

β€’ Previous experience with telehealth services is preferred.

β€’ Prior involvement in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
