This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Evaluate patients’ mental and physical health based on observed symptoms and reported issues.

• Identify psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions accurately.

• Differentiate between disorders that are physiologically and psychologically based, and diagnose accordingly.

• Provide individual psychotherapy for patients experiencing chronic or acute mental health issues.

• Request diagnostic tests such as EKGs, laboratory tests, and other necessary assessments.

• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances as appropriate.

• Inform patients about the risks, benefits, and side effects associated with medications.

• Supervise medication use, monitor side effects, and assess treatment outcomes.

• Analyze patient behavior and treatment responses to measure the effectiveness of interventions.

• De-escalate challenging patient situations verbally when required.

• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and review treatment plans.

• Provide education to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.

• Maintain documentation of medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.

• Complete necessary administrative documentation related to patient care, including FMLA and other approved forms.

• Arrange and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.

• Conduct patient visits and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.

• Operate in accordance with HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.

• Utilize recommended references and seek consultation with the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director for clinical support.

• Deliver care to adolescent and adult patients, or across the lifespan, as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Currently possesses a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license.

• Experience in the fields of Addiction and Mental Health.

• Willingness to pursue additional state licenses as needed.

• Experience in Motivational Interviewing techniques.

• Commitment to partnering with clients to achieve their goals.

• Experience providing care to adults requiring general mental health support and/or treatment for severe mental illness (SMI).

• Comfort and experience working with patients of various ages (13 years and older).

• Understanding of mental health diagnoses and/or dual diagnoses related to substance abuse.

• Proficient in treatment planning.

• Ability to conduct and apply comprehensive assessments effectively.

• Timely and high-quality documentation skills; experience with Electronic Health Records (EHRs).

• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth platforms; comfortable with video communication.

• Knowledge and adherence to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or assistance provided.

• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, an active DEA registration is required and must be maintained by the clinician.

• Proficiency in Spanish and other languages is a plus (preferred).

• Previous experience with telehealth is preferred.

• Experience within the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
