Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations employing evidence-based assessment tools.

• Identify and address mental health disorders, such as anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, OCD, ADHD, and personality disorders.

• Prescribe, oversee, and evaluate psychiatric medications following clinical guidelines and state regulations.

• Evaluate treatment effectiveness, monitor side effects, and ensure patient compliance.

• Create, execute, and modify personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary clinical team.

• Facilitate care coordination with therapists and other healthcare professionals, including referrals when clinically warranted.

• Educate patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment alternatives, and prescribed medications.

• Keep precise, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation.

• Adhere to legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Engage in quality improvement initiatives within a virtual care framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Registered Nurse (RN) licenses in relevant states.

• Preference for multistate licensure, focusing primarily on Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

• At least two (2) years of experience as a practicing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

• Experience in treating patients aged 13 and older.

• Strong understanding of psychiatric disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.

• Proven expertise in managing psychiatric medications.

• Exceptional clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the capability to foster rapport in a virtual care context.

• Dedication to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered care.

• Familiarity with Athena One EHR and remote clinical workflows.

• Active licensure, DEA registration, and prescribing authority in all states where patients receive care.

• Providers in Virginia requiring physician collaboration must secure and maintain a collaborating physician at their own expense.
