Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations utilizing evidence-based assessment instruments.

• Identify and treat various mental health disorders, such as anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, OCD, ADHD, and personality disorders.

• Prescribe, oversee, and monitor psychiatric medications effectively.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatments, monitor side effects, and ensure patient adherence.

• Create, execute, and modify personalized treatment plans.

• Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.

• Provide referrals to additional services when clinically appropriate.

• Educate patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment alternatives, and prescribed medications.

• Maintain timely, precise, and comprehensive clinical documentation.

• Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Engage in quality improvement initiatives.

• Work together with an interdisciplinary behavioral health team in a virtual care setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in relevant states.

• Preference for multistate licensure, with a primary clinical focus on Maryland (MD), Virginia (VA), and Washington, DC.

• At least two (2) years of experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

• Experience in treating patients aged 13 and older.

• Strong clinical understanding of psychiatric disorders and evidence-based treatment methods.

• Proven proficiency in managing psychiatric medications.

• Exceptional clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for building rapport in a virtual care environment.

• Dedication to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care.

• Familiarity with Athena One EHR and remote clinical workflows.

• Active licensure, DEA registration, and prescribing authority in all states where patients are served.

• Providers practicing in Virginia who need physician collaboration must secure and maintain a collaborating physician at their own expense.
