Psych NP, PMHNP – Locum Tenens

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assess and diagnose individuals experiencing mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.

• Create and execute tailored treatment plans that encompass medication management and psychotherapy.

• Perform regular check-ups, track patient progress, and modify treatment plans as necessary.

• Work in collaboration with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.

• Order and analyze diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies.

• Prescribe and oversee medications, which include psychotropic drugs and controlled substances.

• Keep precise and current patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans.

• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings to review patient care and formulate treatment strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid, unrestricted NP licenses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

• Capability to bill Medicare.

• Current PMHNP-BC certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

• At least 2 years of experience as a PMHNP in either inpatient or outpatient environments.

• Strong assessment and diagnostic abilities to address complex mental health needs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting with a high degree of autonomy and independence.

• Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric-mental health nursing principles, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy.

• Proficiency in maintaining accurate and current patient documentation.
