This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.
• Conduct investigations into environmental and sustainability challenges that affect the province and its ministries.
• Engage in the Laudato Si' Action Platform Committee to further the province's sustainability goals.
• Develop, publish, and oversee the Sustainability & Stewardship and Socially Responsible Investment newsletters.
• Manage and promote the Fill It Forward Program through educational outreach, challenges, and incentives.
• Monitor both individual and organizational involvement, along with the environmental impact of the Fill It Forward Program.
• Establish and nurture collaborative partnerships with corporate allies supporting environmental advocacy initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Provincial Sustainability Coordinator as a member of the Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility (ICCR).
• Engage in corporate outreach and participate in ICCR conferences held biannually.
• Work with the Provincial Sustainability Coordinator on initiatives from SHARE Canada.
• Partner with ministry collaborators on environmental projects.
• Assist in creating systems and processes to evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability programs.
• Deliver presentations, facilitate meetings, and represent the Felician Sisters at conferences, webinars, and educational gatherings.
• Attend Felician Services Mission Leader Forums and other organizational meetings as required.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties.
• Travel approximately 15–20% across the United States and Canada.
• Join occasional evening committee meetings and events via Zoom.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or a closely related discipline is required.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• A combination of extensive relevant education and experience will be considered.
• Preferred two to three years of professional experience in sustainability or environmental stewardship.
• Experience in developing or managing sustainability initiatives, environmental programs, or related projects is desired.
• Highly desirable experience collaborating with corporations, nonprofit organizations, or advocacy groups on environmental matters.
• Experience in measuring program outcomes or developing sustainability metrics is an advantage.
• Familiarity with sustainable building practices, carbon footprint analysis, or environmental reporting is beneficial.
• Working knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching.
• Familiarity with Laudato Si' and Laudate Deum is required.
• Understanding of best practices in environmental stewardship and sustainability.
• Appreciation for the mission and values of the Felician Sisters of North America.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and public speaking abilities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Self-motivated with the capability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
• Ability to foster collaborative relationships across various organizations and stakeholders.
• Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Publisher, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel by air.
• A valid passport or the capability to obtain one is required.
• Part-time position averaging around 20–29 hours per week.
• Fully remote work arrangement.
