Protein Analyst – Terrain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in collaborative research alongside Senior Analysts, concentrating on the beef and related protein and feed markets.

• Create, assess, compose, and review research pertaining to the beef industry.

• Generate strategic, data-informed research publications, forecasts, and presentations for clients.

• Assist senior analysts in the preparation of materials for conferences and speaking engagements.

• Produce select internal reports and analyses for association leadership and internal stakeholders.

• Enhance skills in analysis, writing, speaking, and customer interaction alongside Senior Terrain Analysts.

• Work in conjunction with Terrain analysts and support projects beyond primary sector focus when necessary.

• Provide feedback to analysts and leadership regarding the research agenda and essential external communications.

• Aid in business development by offering research-based insights on market conditions and emerging trends.

• Support data gathering, analysis, and forecasting related to the beef markets and adjacent industries.

• Interact with customers at industry events and participate in relevant industry groups.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Finance, Business, or a related discipline OR a Bachelor’s degree in one of those areas with over 3–5 years of pertinent professional experience.

• Familiarity with U.S. agriculture and a keen interest in enhancing knowledge of the beef value chain.

• Basic understanding of livestock industry risk management practices and a strong willingness to learn more.

• Experience or training with agricultural datasets, databases, and financial analysis.

• Capability to apply statistical, econometric, and analytical techniques to real-world market challenges.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills with a readiness to translate analysis into clear insights for external audiences.

• Strong ability to communicate with colleagues and stakeholders.

• Competence in performing basic office tasks and functioning in a standard office environment.

• Capability to sit for extended periods and operate a computer for prolonged durations.

• Ability to communicate effectively, work autonomously, and collaborate within a team setting.

• Capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Availability during standard business hours, with occasional evening and/or weekend work as required.

• Willingness to travel to facilitate customer engagement.

• Eligibility to work in the United States; visa sponsorship or transfer is not available.
