This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, analyze, develop, test, or provide production support for solid rocket motors, solid propulsion systems, energetic systems, or related aerospace hardware.
• Apply solid propulsion engineering principles such as internal ballistics, combustion, thermodynamics, heat transfer, structural analysis, nozzle design, grain design, insulation, case design, and propulsion performance analysis.
• Utilize engineering analysis techniques and tools to address complex technical challenges and assess design performance.
• Provide support for component-, subsystem-, and system-level testing.
• Analyze test data to evaluate performance, investigate anomalies, and guide design choices.
• Generate engineering documentation and prepare technical presentations.
• Engage in design reviews and collaborate across functions.
• Independently manage technical projects, work packages, or intricate engineering initiatives based on experience level.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with 4–15 years of relevant experience in propulsion, aerospace, defense, or a closely related field; OR a Master’s degree in a relevant area with 2–13 years of pertinent experience; OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience required for the position.
• Proven experience in the design, analysis, development, testing, or production support of solid rocket motors, solid propulsion systems, energetic systems, or similar aerospace hardware.
• Proficient knowledge in one or more solid propulsion engineering disciplines, including internal ballistics, combustion, thermodynamics, heat transfer, structural analysis, nozzle design, grain design, insulation, case design, or propulsion performance analysis.
• Experience utilizing engineering analysis methods and tools to resolve complex technical issues and evaluate design performance.
• Background in supporting component, subsystem, or system-level testing and applying test data to assess performance, investigate anomalies, and inform design decisions.
• Strong communication skills for conveying technical information clearly through engineering documentation, technical presentations, design reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Depending on experience level, demonstrated capability to independently lead technical projects, work packages, or complex engineering tasks.
• Preferred: Experience in solid rocket motor development, qualification, acceptance testing, or production within an aerospace or defense setting.
• Preferred: Familiarity with relevant industry, military, safety, quality, or manufacturing standards and requirements associated with propulsion or energetic systems.
