This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
β’ Offer pre-award assistance to faculty and postdoctoral fellows in all facets of proposal development.
β’ Create budgets and complete as well as submit proposal forms.
β’ Prepare submissions for proposals targeting both federal and non-federal funding sources.
β’ Identify, organize, facilitate, and submit new proposals, resubmissions, and competitive renewal research proposals.
β’ Assist in grants and collaborative initiatives with other institutions.
β’ Collaborate with researchers across various departments within Main Campus and the Medical Center.
β’ Report directly to the Associate Director or Manager of Research Administration.
β’ Work in conjunction with staff within the cluster, Proposal Specialists throughout JORA, and other offices.
β’ Ensure that proposals are complete, accurate, and compliant with the regulations, policies, and guidelines set by sponsors and the institution.
β’ Bachelor's degree.
β’ 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in a university or non-profit grants management role.
β’ Understanding of sponsored research funding mechanisms, including federal agencies (NIH, NSF, DOD, etc.), non-federal government agencies, international organizations, industry, foundations, and private and non-profit entities.
β’ In-depth knowledge of federal funding guidelines (2 CFR 200, FAR, etc.).
β’ Proficient in financial systems, accounting, and cost accounting standards related to grants and contracts management.
β’ Experience in budgeting using Excel.
β’ Expertise in electronic grant submissions through Grants.gov and other online platforms.
β’ Proficient in Excel, Adobe Professional, and Docusign.
β’ Flexible and adaptable to ongoing changes in internal and external policies.
β’ Ability to set clear priorities and multitask effectively in a high-volume environment.
β’ Capability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with organizational abilities, suitable for a fast-paced academic environment.
β’ Skilled in creating a collaborative, customer-focused work atmosphere where multiple customers have competing priorities.
β’ Certified Research Administration (CRA), Certified PreAward Research Administration (CPRA), and/or Certified Financial Research Administration (CFRA) preferred.
β’ Familiarity with Workday is preferred.
