Property & Casualty Data Analytics Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee comprehensive analytics projects spanning P&C underwriting, claims, distribution, and customer experience.

• Create sophisticated statistical models, segmentation analyses, and predictive frameworks.

• Establish and monitor KPIs and metrics to ensure business accountability and drive operational enhancements.

• Detect data gaps and quality issues, collaborating with data engineering teams to address the root causes.

• Transform findings into concise narratives suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Design and manage scalable data models and pipelines alongside data engineering teams.

• Develop and maintain executive dashboards and self-service reporting tools utilizing Power BI or Looker.

• Craft complex SQL queries and leverage Python/R for statistical analysis, automation, and investigations.

• Document data definitions, methodologies, and analytical logic comprehensively.

• Assess and adopt analytics tools and technologies.

• Collaborate with leaders in Sales, P&C Underwriting, Operations, and Finance.

• Lead requirements-gathering sessions while managing expectations regarding timelines, scope, and deliverables.

• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership effectively.

• Act as a subject matter expert in data governance, definitions, and analytical best practices.

• Work with IT and data engineering on prioritizing infrastructure and roadmaps.

• Offer code reviews, technical guidance, and mentorship to junior and mid-level analysts.

• Guide project planning and prioritize workloads efficiently.

• Coordinate delivery timelines across multiple functions.

• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or a relevant quantitative discipline.

• Over 6 years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a similar role.

• At least 2 years in a leadership or senior position.

• Advanced expertise in SQL.

• Strong proficiency in Python or R for analytical processes.

• Extensive experience with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI or Looker.

• Capability to articulate and convey complex analyses to both executive and non-technical audiences.

• Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.

• Exceptional project management and organizational skills; adept at juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• High emotional intelligence with a proven ability to influence without formal authority.

• Familiarity with insurance products, terminology, and the regulatory environment is a significant advantage.
