This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Conduct inquiries, interviews, and damage evaluations, traveling to damage locations within the designated area or beyond as necessary.
• Create estimates and recommendations; address coverage inquiries and litigation matters.
• Establish and manage reserves; review reports and associated materials.
• Guide experts, assess coverage and claim value, issue or reject payments, and negotiate claims with plaintiff attorneys when required.
• Document claim files and prepare reports for closure.
• Identify subrogation scenarios and initiate the appropriate actions.
• Manage the designated territory and finalize claims.
• Collaborate with agents and district sales managers on issues of shared interest.
• Support the claims supervisor or act on their behalf, including representing the organization in legal proceedings.
• Complete industry-related training and stay updated on policy modifications, interpretations, and legislation.
• Aid in the training of new claims adjusters.
• Participate in the Catastrophe Team as needed.
• A high school diploma or GED with five years of claims handling experience, or a bachelor’s degree with two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent experience required.
• Must reside in the assigned territory unless a change is sanctioned by the company.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain any necessary licenses.
• Successful completion of the Associate in Claims (AIC) program is preferred.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
• Ability to participate on the Catastrophe Team, including potential short-notice travel to other locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks.
• Consistent and predictable attendance is required.
• Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
• Capability to lift over 50 lbs using lifting-aide equipment.
• Ability to access heights and climb as necessary.
• Frequent driving is required.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency in manual keying, data entry, computer usage, and the ability to push/pull wheeled objects or equipment.
• Strong time management and organizational skills are preferred.
