This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Utilize independent judgment and discretion in managing all varieties of property claims.
• Perform investigations, conduct interviews, and assess damages by traveling to sites within the designated territory.
• Generate estimates, provide recommendations, address coverage inquiries, and oversee litigation processes.
• Establish and uphold reserves; evaluate reports and associated materials; guide experts; ascertain coverage and claim valuation.
• Authorize or reject payments and negotiate claims with plaintiff attorneys when necessary.
• Maintain thorough documentation of claim files and prepare closure reports.
• Identify subrogation circumstances and take appropriate actions.
• Manage the assigned territory and effectively conclude claims.
• Collaborate with agents and district sales managers.
• Support the claims supervisor or represent them, including acting on behalf of the company in legal proceedings.
• Complete industry-specific training and stay updated on policy modifications, interpretations, and legislative changes.
• Assist in orienting new claims adjusters.
• Join the Catastrophe Team as needed.
• High school diploma or GED with five years of claims handling experience, or a bachelor’s degree with two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent experience is required.
• Residency in the assigned territory is required unless a company-approved change is made.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain any necessary licenses.
• Completion of the Associate in Claims (AIC) program is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
• Ability to serve on the Catastrophe Team, including potential short-notice travel to various locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks.
• Strong time management and organizational skills are preferred.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is essential.
• Capability to lift over 50 lbs with the aid of lifting equipment.
• Ability to climb or access heights.
• Frequent driving is required.
• Capacity to lift/move objects weighing between 0–20 lbs and 20–50 lbs.
• Proficiency in manual keying, data entry, computer operation, and information input.
• Ability to push, pull, and maneuver wheeled objects and equipment.
