Property Adjuster, Central Wisconsin – Madison North

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Exercise independent discretion or judgment in managing all varieties of property claims.

• Assist or represent the claims supervisor as needed.

• Conduct investigations and interviews, assess damage, and travel to damage locations within the designated territory.

• Prepare estimates, offer recommendations, address coverage inquiries, and manage litigation.

• Establish and uphold reserves; review reports and associated documents.

• Direct experts, evaluate coverage and claim values, issue or deny payments, and negotiate claims with plaintiff attorneys when required.

• Document claim files and submit reports for closure.

• Identify subrogation scenarios and initiate appropriate actions.

• Manage the assigned territory and conclude assigned claims.

• Engage with agents and district sales managers.

• Represent the company in legal proceedings as necessary.

• Complete industry-related training while staying updated on policy changes, interpretations, and new legislation.

• Assist in training new claims adjusters.

• Participate in the Catastrophe Team when required.

• Successfully complete a 15-week Property Adjuster Trainee program that includes classroom, hands-on, and field training, with several weeks based in Erie, PA.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory for Property Adjuster Trainee.

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred for the Property Adjuster Trainee role.

• For Property Adjuster I: A High School Diploma or GED along with two years of claims handling experience, or an equivalent; alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED combined with successful completion of ERIE-sponsored formal education; or a Bachelor’s Degree is required.

• For Property Adjuster II: A High School Diploma or GED with five years of claims handling experience, or an equivalent; or a Bachelor’s Degree with two years of claims handling experience, or an equivalent is required.

• The incumbent must reside in the assigned territory unless a change is approved by the company.

• Ability to drive and travel regularly within the designated territory.

• Ability to participate in catastrophe duty, which may require short-notice travel to other locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks.

• Willingness to pursue and complete Technical Learning Center Training is required.

• Willingness to acquire and sustain any necessary licenses.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

• Capability to lift over 50 lbs using lifting aid equipment.

• Ability to climb and access heights.

• Frequent driving capabilities are necessary.

• Proficient in manual keying, data entry, and computer usage.

• Successful completion of AIC 33 and AIC 35 is preferred.
