Property Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Exercise independent discretion and judgment when managing various types of property claims.

• Provide assistance or represent the claims supervisor as needed.

• Conduct thorough investigations and interviews.

• Inspect damages by traveling to affected sites within the designated territory or as required.

• Prepare estimates and make informed recommendations.

• Address coverage inquiries and manage litigation matters.

• Establish and maintain reserves.

• Review reports and pertinent materials.

• Direct specialists as necessary.

• Assess coverage and determine claim value.

• Authorize or deny payment.

• Negotiate claims with plaintiff attorneys when required.

• Document claim files and submit reports for closure.

• Identify subrogation situations and take appropriate action.

• Service the assigned territory and ensure claims are resolved.

• Collaborate with agents and district sales managers.

• Represent the company in legal proceedings when necessary.

• Complete industry-related training and remain updated on policy changes, interpretations, and legislation.

• Assist in training new claims adjusters.

• Participate in the Catastrophe Team when required.

• Maintain a regular and predictable attendance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Property Adjuster Trainee: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Property Adjuster I: A high school diploma or GED and two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent; or a high school diploma or GED combined with successful completion of ERIE-sponsored formal education; or a bachelor’s degree is required.

• Property Adjuster II: A high school diploma or GED and five years of claims handling experience, or equivalent; or a bachelor’s degree with two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent, is required.

• The incumbent must reside within the assigned territory unless a change is approved by the company.

• Must be able to drive and travel regularly within the assigned territory.

• Must be available for catastrophe duty, which may include short-notice travel to other locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks.

• Willingness to pursue and complete Technical Learning Center Training is required.

• Willingness to obtain and maintain any necessary licenses is essential.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

• Ability to lift over 50 lbs with the use of lifting aid equipment.

• Capability to climb and access heights.

• Frequent driving is required.

• Proficient in manual keying, data entry, and computer usage.

• Successful completion of AIC 33 and AIC 35 is preferred.

• A bachelor's degree is preferred for the Property Adjuster Trainee position.
