Property Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Exercise independent judgment and discretion in managing various types of property claims.

• Provide assistance or represent the claims supervisor when necessary.

• Conduct investigations and interviews, assess damages, and travel to damage locations within the designated area.

• Prepare estimates, offer recommendations, address coverage inquiries, and oversee litigation.

• Establish and maintain reserves; evaluate reports and associated documents.

• Direct experts, assess coverage and claim value, issue or deny payments, and negotiate claims with plaintiff attorneys when needed.

• Document claim files and prepare reports for closure.

• Identify subrogation opportunities and take appropriate actions.

• Manage claims effectively within the assigned territory until resolution.

• Collaborate with Agents and district sales managers.

• Represent the company in legal proceedings as required.

• Complete training related to the industry and stay updated on policy changes, interpretations, and new legislation.

• Assist in the training of new claims adjusters.

• Participate in the Catastrophe Team when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with five years of claims handling experience, or equivalent; alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree with two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent.

• Residency in the assigned territory is required unless a change is approved by the company.

• Willingness to obtain and retain any necessary licenses.

• Successful completion of the Associate in Claims (AIC) program is preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

• Ability to serve on the Catastrophe Team, including the capacity to travel on short notice to different locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

• Capability to lift over 50 lbs using lifting assistance equipment.

• Ability to climb and access heights.

• Frequent driving is required.

• Ability to lift or move items weighing 0–20 lbs and 20–50 lbs.

• Proficiency in manual keying/data entry, information input, and computer usage.
