This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Utilize generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to evaluate financial data.
• Reconcile and verify financial statements.
• Prepare both general and standard journal entries.
• Contribute to budget formulation.
• Generate standard accounting and financial reports for management review.
• Compile and assess financial information for financial statements and accounting reports.
• Execute journal entries for the general ledger by verifying calculations, reviewing data, and reconciling balances.
• Examine budgets, revenues, expenses, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and wire transfers for deposits.
• Process mortgage payments and distributions while ensuring accuracy.
• Maintain and oversee accounting control procedures.
• Analyze revenue and spending trends, recommending budget levels for expenditure management.
• Analyze and evaluate accounting and financial resources for property acquisitions, dispositions, closings, budgets, expenditures, funding, contracts, grants, and corporate transactions.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing research data, clarifying journal entries and transactions, and addressing audit inquiries.
• Communicate with on-site and other property managers to facilitate pre-close and close activities, ensuring timely accounting processes and reporting.
• Complete financial, accounting, administrative, and various reports and analyses.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or a financial environment.
• Proven experience applying and utilizing generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Employment history reflecting a strong accounting and financial background capable of analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports in line with accounting, finance, budgeting, and cost control principles.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and highly driven.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in internet usage, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software.
• Excellent analytical abilities.
• Familiarity with financial and property management systems (such as Yardi, One Site, etc.).
• In-depth understanding of accounting and finance best practices, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
