Project Scientist – Human Health Risk Assessor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the development and execution of site-specific human health risk assessments for remedial investigations.

• Ensure adherence to CERCLA, RCRA, as well as state or international regulatory programs.

• Create conceptual exposure models that characterize the fate and transport of constituents, human health receptors, and exposure pathways.

• Assist in remedial decision-making, establish remedial goals, and evaluate the protectiveness of various remedial alternatives.

• Advocate for technical findings and engage in negotiations with state and federal regulators.

• Design and conduct multimedia and multidisciplinary investigations, including assessments of vapor intrusion.

• Prepare and review toxicological profiles in accordance with USEPA and ATSDR guidance and databases.

• Develop risk dossiers utilizing OECD and REACH guidance and databases that align with Australian DoEE requirements.

• Oversee multiple projects, ensuring they are completed successfully and on time, within budget.

• Manage, mentor, and foster the professional development of staff.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development efforts.

• Collaborate with clients and project teams on strategies for allocation and litigation.

• Review and interpret regulations and guidance pertaining to human health risk assessments in the U.S., Canada, UK, and Australia.

• Implement stringent quality assurance procedures for risk assessment methodologies and reporting.

• Stay updated with industry trends and actively participate in technical conferences or working groups.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of consulting experience, demonstrating a solid history of successful project outcomes and management.

• Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with experience in mentoring and developing team members.

• Proven experience in business development and establishing strong client relationships.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Outstanding interpersonal abilities.

• Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and environmental legislation.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Master's or Ph.D. in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, toxicology, ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline.

• Willingness to travel as required, based on client and project demands.
