This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Oversee the regional risk management initiative for the EMEA portfolio.
• Implement uniform risk governance, standards, processes, methodologies, and escalation protocols.
• Embed risk management throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, Commercial, Commissioning, and Operations Readiness.
• Offer independent risk oversight and constructive challenges to project and functional leadership.
• Foster a proactive risk culture emphasizing early identification, ownership, accountability, and prompt escalation.
• Serve as the regional risk management subject matter expert, advising project, regional, and executive leadership.
• Lead the identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, escalation, and resolution of project risks and opportunities.
• Create, manage, and oversee project risk registers.
• Assess EPC delivery risks in areas such as design, permitting, grid connection, procurement, construction, commercial performance, commissioning, energization, and MW capacity delivery.
• Aggregate and evaluate project risks at the regional level, pinpointing emerging, systemic, correlated, and concentration risks.
• Encourage the identification and realization of project delivery opportunities.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of cost and schedule risks, including Monte Carlo simulations and schedule risk assessments.
• Evaluate cost exposure, schedule uncertainties, critical-path risks, milestone achievements, and confidence in ready-for-service dates.
• Formulate risk-based suggestions for contingency and management reserves.
• Analyze regional risk drivers, scenarios, and sensitivities to determine portfolio impacts and mitigation priorities.
• Provide risk analysis and insights for investment decisions, stage gates, baseline approvals, and major contract awards.
• Generate executive-level project and regional reports on risks, opportunities, exposures, trends, mitigation strategies, and contingencies.
• Develop project and portfolio risk dashboards and analytics.
• Track and report on mitigation progress, overdue actions, changes in exposure, realized risks, and issues needing escalation.
• Supply risk information for project reviews, leadership meetings, investment decisions, and governance forums.
• Conduct project risk reviews and health assessments.
• Test project assumptions, forecasts, contingency needs, mitigation strategies, and confidence levels.
• Identify cross-project lessons, recurring risks, and systemic vulnerabilities.
• Promote continuous improvement in risk processes, methodologies, tools, analytics, reporting, and organizational capability.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Extensive experience in risk management, project controls, or project delivery within complex EPC, construction, infrastructure, energy, mission-critical, or major capital programs.
• Proven experience in leading project and portfolio risk management, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, escalation, and assurance.
• Strong grasp of cost, schedule, contingency, and project controls principles, and their integration with project risk management.
• Experience applying quantitative risk analysis and probabilistic techniques to assess project cost and schedule uncertainties.
• Advanced skills in Monte Carlo simulations, cost and schedule risk assessments, scenario analysis, and risk-based contingency development.
• In-depth understanding of EPC contracting, procurement, supply chain, change management, claims, and commercial risks.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and constructively challenge senior project and functional leaders in a dynamic, fast-paced project environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and executive communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk data into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
• Ability to recognize systemic and correlated risks across multiple projects and provide regional insights.
• Experience in delivering hyperscale, AI, mission-critical, or large-scale data center programs (preferred).
• Familiarity with enterprise or project risk management platforms and their integration with scheduling, cost management, and reporting systems (preferred).
• Relevant professional certifications such as PMI-RMP, PMP, APM, AACE International, IRM, or equivalent (preferred).
• Working knowledge of ISO 31000, PMBOK, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 (preferred).
• Experience presenting portfolio risk, contingency, schedule confidence, and emerging exposures to executive leadership and governance committees (preferred).
• Proficiency with @Risk, Riskonnect, Safran, or other industry-standard software (preferred).
