This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
β’ Lead the comprehensive execution of retail store construction and renovation initiatives.
β’ Supervise remodels, store refurbishments, and facility maintenance projects.
β’ Create and uphold project plans that encompass timelines, budgets, scope, and resource distribution.
β’ Collaborate with teams in Real Estate, Store Operations, Merchandising, IT, Finance, as well as vendors, architects, landlords, and general contractors.
β’ Act as the primary point of contact for architects, engineers, general contractors, and external partners.
β’ Prepare cost estimates, submit capital project expenditures, and manage project budgets ranging from $5,000 to over $1 million.
β’ Monitor expenses against forecasts and provide insights into project spending.
β’ Identify opportunities for value engineering while upholding brand standards.
β’ Track vendor performance and guide project standards and deliverables.
β’ Ensure quality control, secure permit approvals, conduct inspections, and coordinate with landlords.
β’ Perform site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and company standards.
β’ Coordinate all workstreams for new store openings, including Real Estate, Construction, Legal, HR, Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, Asset Protection, and Accounting/Finance.
β’ Create and manage critical path schedules while addressing delays and conflicts.
β’ Recognize risks and implement strategies for mitigation.
β’ Produce regular reports on project status and financial implications.
β’ Engage with employees at all levels, customers, general contractors, and construction suppliers.
β’ A minimum of five years of retail management experience and/or five years of relevant project management experience.
β’ Demonstrated success in managing multiple concurrent projects across various locations.
β’ Proficiency in PC operations.
β’ Strong understanding of construction methods, permitting procedures, retail operations, and ADA/code compliance.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, AutoCAD, or similar construction/project management software.
β’ Must be available for overnight work and travel up to 50% to new store locations.
β’ Capable of drafting reports, business correspondence, and process guidelines.
β’ Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups including managers, clients, and customers.
β’ Skilled in identifying problems, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing sound conclusions.
β’ Competent in planning and organizing, teaching and training, building teams, communicating effectively, and embodying US Foods culture and values.
β’ Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution or equivalent combination of education and experience.
