
Project Manager, Installation and Commissioning β Battery Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Manage the planning, coordination, and implementation of behind-the-meter battery storage initiatives.
β’ Supervise contractor-led installations and the commissioning of battery energy storage systems along with relevant electrical infrastructure across intricate, multi-site projects nationwide.
β’ Project timelines, equipment lead times, and resource availability will be utilized to forecast and schedule installations with contractors.
β’ Handle permitting, utility interconnection applications, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) inspections.
β’ Ensure site readiness by evaluating electrical services, reviewing load and metering data, and addressing structural and clearance requirements, as well as equipment placement.
β’ Build contractor relationships and oversee performance in accordance with schedules, budgets, safety standards, and quality expectations.
β’ Direct the commissioning, startup, and acceptance testing processes.
β’ Uphold electrical safety and code compliance, including NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 855.
β’ Work collaboratively with engineering, incentives, procurement, fulfillment, and installation support teams.
β’ Recognize and mitigate project risks and challenges.
β’ Update stakeholders and customers on project status, developments, and potential delays.
β’ Oversee project Bills of Materials and manage the delivery of batteries, inverters, switchgear, and balance-of-system components.
β’ Maintain inventory, serialized equipment, asset records, and project documentation, such as plans, reports, change orders, commissioning records, warranty registrations, and closeout documents.
β’ May assist with solar, EV charging, lighting, and HVAC conservation initiatives.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
β’ Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly in battery energy storage, solar, or electrical construction.
β’ Proven track record in managing subcontractors within electrical, energy storage, or construction projects.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of battery energy storage systems, inverters, switchgear, metering, and utility interconnection procedures.
β’ Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including the NEC, NFPA 855, and UL 9540, as well as local permitting and inspection protocols, is preferred.
β’ Experience in facilities management or as a building engineer is preferred.
β’ Excellent organizational abilities to handle multiple projects concurrently.
β’ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
β’ Willingness to travel to project sites as required, with flexible hours to accommodate contractor and field crew schedules.
