Project Manager II – Electric Bus Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist the School Bus Team in executing Electric School Bus Incentive Projects.

• Act as the primary liaison and first point of contact for the incentive processing team.

• Serve as the initial contact for technical project components, including data collection and approved product/vendor lists.

• Deliver customer service to zero-emission school bus incentive project applicants, elucidating complex processes and requirements.

• Support the management of a collaborative infrastructure and vehicle application process.

• Facilitate synergies among HVIP, ZESBI, HVIP Public School Bus Set Aside, and EnergIIZE funding mechanisms.

• Promote stakeholder industry engagement concerning funding synergies and industry advancement.

• Collaborate with the Salesforce team to manage and implement the ZESBI incentive processing portal.

• Process applications and reimbursements while troubleshooting portal issues alongside the Incentive Processing team.

• Assist applicants and incentive recipients, ensuring project success across CALSTART teams and departments.

• Partner with state agencies and industry stakeholders on incentive design, stakeholder engagement, participation, policy implementation, and end-user experience.

• Monitor applications, incentive agreements, reimbursements, and associated documentation.

• Aid in the development of project SOPs and internal controls.

• Support client contract schedules and deliverables.

• Utilize expertise to enhance CALSTART’s standing in the zero-emission school bus and infrastructure sectors.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.

• 2-3 years of experience in project management.

• Knowledge of the California or national school bus and/or infrastructure industry.

• Proven capability to distill large volumes of information into clear, comprehensible language for stakeholders and interested parties.

• Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

• Proficient in communicating through presentations and written deliverables.

• Strong track record of meeting or exceeding deadlines while working independently.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or related fields, or equivalent experience.

• Ability to collect and analyze information and resolve issues to propose effective solutions.

• Demonstrated experience with computer applications, including MS Suite and CRM systems.

• Experience working on projects that demand high attention to detail.

• Proficient in using both written and verbal communication to engage with agencies, stakeholders, industry representatives, and the general public.

• Ability to connect with diverse audiences.

• Experience in establishing priorities and managing multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines.

• Two years of experience in designing grant applications, preferably for zero-emission school bus or infrastructure-related projects.

• Experience in processing applications and/or reimbursements for zero-emission incentive projects and/or using Salesforce.

• Experience in planning and/or deploying zero-emission school buses and/or supporting infrastructure.

• Knowledge of the advanced transportation industry, zero-emission vehicles, and associated technologies.
