This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee multiple simultaneous datacenter construction initiatives from the initial planning stage to final completion.
• Direct greenfield, brownfield, and retrofit engineering and design projects, including site due diligence, land development, detailed design, permitting, construction administration, and transfer to Operations.
• Manage both internal and external resources related to building, power, cooling, telecom, and control scopes.
• Coordinate with internal client stakeholders and external consultants, such as architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty vendors.
• Facilitate problem-solving efforts and assist in the integration of new equipment and operational processes.
• Provide design and construction coordination, influencing key project decisions.
• Supervise datacenter design and construction activities throughout the Americas.
• Act as the primary client liaison for a varied portfolio of projects.
• Foster strong relationships with clients and project partners while offering subject matter expertise.
• Collaborate and cross-train with Otak team members to enhance efficiency, quality, and project delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Construction disciplines.
• Over 7 years of progressively responsible experience in construction or design-related fields.
• At least 3 years of experience in data center construction environments.
• Proven experience serving as an Owner's Representative.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) designation is a plus.
• Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Quick adaptability to changing priorities.
• Demonstrated capability to lead engineering teams in large datacenter and critical-facility settings.
• Experience in managing personnel, budgets, schedules, and complex project portfolios.
• PMP and/or CMIT certification, or active pursuit of these credentials.
• OSHA 10 Certification.
• Background in commercial and high-tech construction, including retrofits.
• Familiar with all phases of design and construction management.
• Proven success in managing multiple design projects of varying complexity and stages.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, land-use processes, and contractual change management.
• Advanced oral and effective written communication skills.
• Experience in facilitating meetings and developing skills in exercise facilitation, such as RACI.
• Proficient in AI tools, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and construction management software.
• Experience in managing projects in a virtual or remote environment.
• Willingness to travel as required.
